A business shopping application that allows employees to find exactly what they need and allow companies to control and approve spending.
The application delivers businesses the convenience of consumer-like online shopping and buying experience while ensuring company control over spending.
My role for this application was observing employee behaviors and creating enhancements for improved conversion, task completion and spend compliance.
Examining customers shopping activities led to the discovery that employees opened multiple browser tabs and searched competitors to verify the best deals. This insight led to the savings comparison modal. It allowed employees to see top competitors prices with out having to initiate search on multiple sites.
Employees sought faster ways to add quantities and merchandise directly into the cart on search results pages. Initially employees had to navigate to the product detail pages to reveal those functions. This simple solution of adding quantity fields and add to cart UI on search results led to an increase of completed orders.
This feature allows employees to shop for products and create a requisition report to submit for approval before purchasing. Once the requisition has been approved the employee is permitted to transact and complete the order.
Employees with approver permissions can view all pending, approved, denied and finalized reports. Additionally they filter, download and print all reports.
Approvers can get insights on the capital needed for upcoming orders or nudge reports that are frozen in the que.
